About the event
Discover the art of Kinusaiga, a Japanese fabric art technique that creates beautiful, quilt-like designs without sewing! Using small pieces of fabric tucked into grooves in a foam base, you'll build a colorful design one fabric scrap at a time.
Kinusaiga is a fun and creative way to use up fabric scraps and give leftover materials a new life. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll choose your own fabrics from The Craft Apothecary's donated fabric collection and use them to create a one-of-a-kind 6x6 inch quilt square.
This is a no-sew project! All you need to know is how to safely use an X-Acto knife and scissors. We'll provide all the tools and supplies you need, so just show up ready to create!

What's Included
Your class fee includes one 6x6 inch foam block with a pre-printed pattern and all the fabric needed to complete your project.
Want to keep creating? Additional pattern kits will be available for purchase from The Craft Apothecary, along with the tools used during class!
This workshop is co-led by Ellen Miller, owner of Do Not Fear Life Creative Maker, LLC, and Emily Pearson, Director of The Craft Apothecary and Owatonna Makerspace. Both are lifelong creatives with a love for exploring new art forms, learning new techniques, and sharing their passion for making with others. With backgrounds in a variety of creative mediums, they'll help you discover something new and have fun along the way!
