The Craft Apothecary and Owatonna Makerspace Progress

Things are still happening to make this a reality! We've taken in over 2600 pounds of donated art and craft supplies! We are continuing to take in donations on Sundays during CrafterNoon hours—11am–4pm. Keep us in mind as you are spring cleaning! Here is a link to our donations page for more details.

As for the space; the ADA compliant doors are IN! Makerspace and Apothecary spaces have been painted and we are working hard at sorting donations and setting up our retail and community use areas! Owatonna Makerspace is waiting on some electrical work to be completed so we have enough power for all the amazing equipment. Stay tuned for The Craft Apothecary soft-opening and our big Rose Street Center Grand Opening dates!

Just a small note from the Director

April feels like a big step forward for The Craft Apothecary! I’ve officially stepped away from my career at Pearson after 22 years and will now be focusing 100% on bringing this space to life. It’s exciting (and a little surreal) to be all in on this work.

The timing couldn’t be better—the accessibility updates have officially begun at The Rose Street Center, and things are continue to move in the right direction. With that, April will also open up opportunities for volunteer hours, more donation times, and I’m looking forward to building this space alongside all of you!

Donations

We will continue to take donations on Sundays from 11:00–4:00PM. Stop by the Rose Street Center, 115 East Rose Street Owaotnna, we'll be in the Community Room! If its a bag or 2 bring it on in. We do have a cart and elevator available if you need it. If its a car load, stop in and I'll direct you to the loading dock to un-load there. We'll weigh donations and as a 501(c)3 we can provide a donation receipt if you'd like!

Here is a link to our donations page on what we will and will not accept:

VoyageMinnesota Article

I had the opportunity to talk a bit about the journey so far with The Craft Apothecary in an article with VoyageMinnesota.

Steele County Fix-It-Clinic — SUCCESS!

The Craft Apothecary co-hosted the first Steele County Fix-it-Clinic and it was a huge sucess! We had 33 broken items come in for repair/diagnostics. 23 items were fixed, 3 items were diagnosed, 7 item either were beyond repair or diagnosed but not worth fixing. A huge thank you to our Volunteer Fixers for helping us make this happen. We will for sure be hosting another (tenitive date set for October 17th) so make sure to follow us on our Facebook Page and or on our website:
