Yarn Camp at The Craft Apothecary

July 24th & 25th

Rose Street Center Community Room

We're excited to announce our first-ever Yarn Camp this summer—an all ages event we hope will become an annual tradition! Stop by during Yarn Camp to enjoy a variety of fiber-focused activities, from shopping hundreds of skeins of yarn to learning new skills and connecting with other enthusiasts.

Thanks to an incredible opportunity, we'll have more than 1,000 skeins of brand-new yarn available on consignment. Whether you're searching for the perfect color for your next project, looking to learn a new skill, or simply wanting to connect with fellow makers, Yarn Camp will have something for everyone.

Whether you're picking up knitting needles for the very first time, curious about Tunisian crochet, or ready to tackle more advanced techniques, Yarn Camp has a class for you!

We're excited to offer workshops for beginners, experienced makers, adults, and kids, all led by talented local instructors who love sharing their craft. Class sizes are limited, so be sure to check out the lineup and reserve your spot before they're gone.

Sunday CrafterNoons at Rose Street

Join us for a Sunday CrafterNoon! Every Sunday 11am–4pm come to the Rose Street Center (home of The Craft Apothecary) and spend some time with community and creativity. Bring your own project, bring a snack, we have tables and comfy chairs. The Apothecary isn't open yet so we don't have our full offering of supplies and tools to start out with but we wanted to start coming together and creating! Register at the links below to reserve your spot, pay in person ($5 fee).

Volunteer Call!

A heartfelt thank you to the Heritage Quilters Guild of Owatonna for volunteering their time this week! They were able to get through measuring and sorting the last of the donated fabric (for now). It was wonderful to see community members sharing their talents to help build The Craft Apothecary. Thank you for being part of this journey!

If digging through piles of craft supplies sounds like your kind of fun (same), we could use your help! We’re looking for volunteers to sort, organize, and bring a little order to the creative chaos.

Weekly open volunteer hours starting at The Craft Apothecary!

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

11am – 3pm

Some activities that we have on our project list are:

  • Sorting scrapbook/stamping supplies

  • Covering wall panels in fabric

  • Sorting, measuring, and rolling fabric ✅

  • Sorting yarn ✅

  • Building IKEA furniture ✅

It's really a choose your own creative adventure over here and we'd love some help!

Send me an email if you are interested: emily@thecraftapothecary.org

The building is locked during these hours so please reach out and I'll share my phone to get into contact with me. Thank you!!

And zero worries if weekdays don't work out for you! Once we open there will be weekend volunteer hours available.

*Note: For safety reasons we do ask for volunteers to be over 15 and kids stay at home. Thank you!

**Volunteers will receive a day pass good for The Craft Apothecary as a thank you.

Downtown Thursdays This Summer!

Stop by the Rose Street Center during Downtown Thursdays for a little sneak peek at what The Craft Apothecary will have to offer!

August 6 • September 34:00–8:00 PM

On the first Thursday of each month this summer, we'll be taking over the Community Room with fun, hands-on creative activities for all ages. Make your own $1 buttons or magnets, stitch a $5 felt success badge, create at our free Artist Trading Card station, browse a small selection of craft supplies for sale, and see what other crafty ideas I dream up between now and then.

While you're here, don't forget to stop by Retail Collective and check out all of the amazing local vendors—they'll be open for shopping too!

We can't wait to create with you!
