We are officially taking donations and have our first Donation Day scheduled!
Too many supplies and not enough time? We get it. If your craft room’s overflowing or you’ve got materials collecting dust, let us help lighten the load. We’ll put those supplies to good use — teaching, creating, and keeping art accessible for everyone.
Saturday October 18th
10am–3pm
Rose Street Center
115 E. Rose Street
Owatonna, MN
Note: Pull into the parking on the east side of the building and drive to the loading docks at the back of the building. We'll have volunteers directing the way and carts available. We'll weigh your donations and provide donation receipts.
Donations & How They Help
At The Craft Apothecary and Owatonna Makerspace, donated art and craft supplies help us keep creativity accessible for everyone. Whether it’s fabric, yarn, tools, beads, or half-finished projects that just never quite found their spark — we put them to good use.
Some items will land in our secondhand art and craft retail shop, giving them a new life and supporting the space financially.
Others will become part of our shared tools and community supply area, where anyone can use them during workshops, open studio times, or personal projects.
Every sale or reuse of donated items directly supports both The Craft Apothecary and Owatonna Makerspace — helping cover class materials, equipment upkeep, and creative programs that bring makers together.
We are currently looking for:
Craft Apothecary
Art, craft, and hobby supplies (fabric, craft paint, art brushes, yarn, paper, scrapbooking materials, beads, etc.)
Crafting tools and equipment
Storage bins and containers for organizing materials
Art and craft books and patterns for sewing, crochet, knitting, etc.
3 tier rolling craft carts (such as the crafting once found at IKEA/Michael's/etc.)
Owatonna Makerspace
Mud and tape to finish the drywall joints in the Makerspace
Wood—2x4's and plywood
Building tools, small equipment in good working condition, screws, nails, etc.
Stained Glass materials and tools
For a list of what we will not accept and a more comprehensive list of items we will accept please visit our Donations Page. Let’s keep good materials out of landfills, put them back into the hands of makers, and keep creativity flowing in Owatonna.
Notice:
We are currently only accepting donations on designated Donation Days during certain hours. Once we open to the public we'll be able to take donations during open hours. Please do not dump donations at the door, we will not be able to process and dumped items for health and safety reasons.
Donation Use Statement:
All donated items become the property of The Craft Apothecary. Donations may be used as community tools and supplies or sold through our secondhand shop at The Craft Apothecary’s discretion. Proceeds from all sales directly support the programs, classes, and shared creative spaces of The Craft Apothecary and Owatonna Makerspace at The Rose Street Center. Thank you for your support!
